General Information -- MoMA Wholesale

The Museum of Modern Art, along with being one of the most important contemporary art institutions in the world, has been manufacturing and distribution well-designed merchandise for over 30 years. A division of the Museum that began by inviting artists to design holiday cards has grown into a diverse business, distributing home and personal accessories, as well as stationery and holiday products. Unlike other manufacturers, every item we sell is reviewed by the curators of MoMA’s Department of Architecture and Design. In fact, many of the products are inspired by the MoMA design collection itself, which has been an important repository of utilitarian design since 1932.

By working directly with contemporary designers and artists, MoMA integrates new and unique materials and production methods to create products that combine good design, utility and convenience. MoMA Wholesale works to develop and distribute merchandise that reflects The Museum of Modern Art’s commitment to providing the public with examples of modern art and good design.

Proceeds from the sale of these products are used to support the Museum’s programs.

Minimum Orders per Shipping Address

Opening orders: $250. Reorders received within six months of prior invoice: $150.

Payment Terms

First orders must be prepaid via credit card, COD or check. Orders prepaid by check will be held for 10 business days prior to shipping. Payment terms of Net 30 upon approval only. To apply, please submit a MoMA Credit Application or a signed credit sheet. We require four current trade references and one bank reference. Accounts inactive for 18 months or longer must submit new references. We charge a $25 fee for returned checks. All International orders must be prepaid.

Credit Cards

We accept MasterCard, Visa and American Express. We highly recommend payment by credit card. Depending on your credit card billing cycle, you will have at least 30 days and up to 60 days to pay for your merchandise. Most credit cards provide statements to facilitate your bookkeeping, and most reward you with free travel, merchandise or cash back.

Shipping

FOB South River, NJ. UPS unless otherwise specified. Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery.

Returns

All products are sold on a non-returnable basis unless damaged or defective. Any claims made for damages, shortages, or defective merchandise must be reported to our Customer Service Department within 15 days of receipt of order. No merchandise may be returned without prior authorization from the Museum of Modern Art. Refused orders and merchandise returns due to customer error will be subject to a 10% restocking charge. Orders paid via Credit Card will receive a credit to that card on authorized returns.

Backorders

All Credit Card backorders are cancelled. Backorders under $75.00 on orders with Payment Terms will be subject to cancellation
